Missions

Local Missions

On the third Sunday of each month volunteers from Grace Church assist residents at the Bergen New Bridge Medical Center in attending a vibrant worship service.

On the third Wednesday of each month Volunteers from Grace Church prepare, deliver and serve lunch to the homeless at Bergen County Housing, Health and Human Services Center.

The CEF Good News Club teaches the children about salvation in Jesus by singing songs, memorizing Bible verses, playing games, and sharing a Bible story, based on a specific theme for the day. A team of volunteers from Grace Church participate in these after school activities at the Roosevelt Elementary School in Ridgefield Park in the Fall and Spring semesters.

Every summer in July, CEF organize a 5-day camp in parks and schools for children in Paterson to learn about salvation in Jesus through songs, Bible verses, games, and sharing of Bible stories. Volunteers from Grace Church participate in this 5-day event after training, praying and planning.

Short Term Missions and Missions Training

Each year we send out members from our church to join mission organizations to sow the seeds of the Gospel and help communities in need.

The Chinese Mission Convention (CMC) is a ministry whose ultimate purpose is to challenge and mobilize Chinese and non-Chinese Christians to be ambassadors for Christ in all walks of life, locally & globally, to reach all communities and unreached people groups. CMC is dedicated to empower individuals and churches to reach the world for Christ. Every two years Grace Church sends a group of individuals who seek to deepen their understanding of missions, to hear the witness of missionaries from around the world, and to expose our children and young people to the Lord’s work of spreading the Gospel.

Grace Church members participate in local outreach events organized by Jesus Loves New Jersey (JLNJ), an evangelical organization with a mission to spread the gospel in New Jersey. Different local churches host outreach events in their communities with the assistance and leadership offered by JLNJ. Grace Church is host to the Bergen County Outreach Program, providing a place to organize and launch small teams to give out literature, talk to people about God’s salvation, and pray for them in nearby shopping centers and grocery stores.

Special Mission Events

Volunteers from Grace Church offer passers-by the chance to pray, and a Bible or Christian tract to help them know the Lord Jesus Christ.

Grace Church joins this joyful annual parade to proclaim Christ’s love for the community.

Every year in October Grace Church holds a special Sunday Missions Conference where we hear first-hand from missionaries about their work for the Lord’s harvest. We meet on Sunday morning for worship and also have informative and inspiring workshops based on the missions theme. Both Chinese and English worship services provide the opportunity to hear from a special key-note speaker, while the workshops offer the chance to hear from local missionaries about practical ways to become involved in the Great Commission. We also provide a lively children’s program to help our children to be introduced to what God is doing through missionaries throughout the world.

In December we offer a wonderful musical presentation by our combined Chinese/English congregation choir. Each year we have a new theme to celebrate the good news that Jesus Christ was born to set humankind free from sin.

Each year we participate in Operation Christmas Child and assemble shoe boxes lovingly filled with different items for needy children with the message that Jesus loves them. The shoebox gifts are delivered to local collection centers for distribution around the world by Samaritan’s Purse.
